More Silliness
While I'm about it, I should tell you about what my mum said when we were watching Paulie yesterday (great film about a parrot - I recommend):
Mum: "Oh, who's that actor? I recognise her."
Me: "I don't think I've ever seen her before."
Mum: "I know, it's the Fairy Godmother in Shrek II."
Me: "But Mum, Shrek II is an animation. Their faces are drawn by artists. That's why you didn't recognise John Cleese or Jennifer Saunders*..."
[* JC and JS are voiceover artists in Shrek II]

I saw that film! Very excellent! Sad though.
Perhaps she was unconsciously recognising the voice?
Oh arse, I didn't explain properly.
In the one film, she saw an Actual Real Live Actress and recognised her face because it looked like an animated character in Shrek. Nothing to do with the voice. The faces were genuinely similar, and my mum just can't get her head round the truth that Shrek is animated.
When she watched Shrek, she didn't recognise JC and JS's voices at all, and when I tried to tell her it was indeed JC and JS, she refused to believe me because the characters didn't look like JC or JS.
