Girls' Fun: Cast List - Ross

Here’s what I wrote about Ross, in the cast list I kept at the back of the diary...

I went to a party in Fulford Social Hall, got pissed, was glad to find Ross there, WHO WAS ONLY A FRIEND, and talked to him a lot. Everyone started joking about us and making suggestions, and they said he wanted to go with me, but I didn’t really want to, but in the end I didn’t have the strength to say no, so I went with him*. Next week at school we were both acutely embarrassed and haven’t spoken to each other since.


* [Editor’s note] I’d forgotten that terminology. To “go with” someone meant to “cop off” with them, i.e. snogging and stuff. In Ross’s case it was one snog. He pursed his lips and sucked like a vacuum cleaner. It was very odd. But I definitely had a crush on him for a while after that, which I seem to have missed out of this account.
